With the four-year-old's first early musical education at the Yamaha Music School, it was soon apparent that Shinnosuke Inugai, born in 1982 in Hamamatsu, Japan, was exceptionally gifted at the piano. This became evident in the further course of his training in the development of an immense repertoire in various styles in classical music as well as in jazz and pop music, a highly rare combination. In addition, there is a special talent for improvisation, which appears only imperfectly on a CD, but in his concerts is able to lead to special highlights with a sense of the comedic.
He began his musical studies in 2000 at the Toho Gaken School of Music in Tokyo. In his exams he was the best in his class and subsequently gave a concert for the Japanese Emperor at the Imperial Palace. This was followed by in-depth studies in Europe. Here, his training for the concert exam with honors at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt with Professor Catherine Vickers was particularly groundbreaking. Shinnosuke Inugai has won numerous national and international competitions, including the Tokyo Music Competition, Jaen International Piano Competition and Man Lind Piano Competition in Helsinki. In 2013, his interpretation of Beethoven's 1st Piano Concerto won him 3rd prize at the Telekom Beethoven Competition in Bonn and the Audience Award. This earned him the opening concert of the Beethovenfest 2014.
In addition to solo recitals in Japan, Europe and the Arab world, Shinnosuke Inugai has also made numerous appearances as a soloist with renowned orchestras. He is also highly regarded as an extremely accomplished and reliable chamber musician. Shinnosuke Inugai teaches master classes in Japan for young pianists. In addition, it is a matter close to his heart to lead young people to the sources of classical music and other musical pieces.
Playing a wrong note is insignificant but playing without passion is unforgivable.
