Since winning the First Prize at the International Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn in 2019 and being awarded the Bronze Medal at the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Master Competition 2021 in Tel Aviv, Cunmo Yin has been giving concerts in the world's most famous halls.
Cunmo Yin was born in China in 1993 and received his first piano lessons at the age of 9. After only a few months, he gave his first concert. At the age of 14, he already recorded a CD with all of Franz Liszt's transcendental etudes and won the second prize in the Shanghai Piano Competition in 2009 as the youngest participant. In 2018 he was awarded the Prize of the Federal President at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Competition Berlin, and in Grosseto/Italy he received the 1st Prize and the Audience Prize at the Scriabin Competition in 2018. In 2019 Cunmo Yin was awarded the Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli Prize at the International Competition in Eppan/Italy.
In 2021 he received the Carl Bechstein Scholarship.
Cunmo Yin has given numerous solo recitals in Europe (including Brucknerhaus Linz, Milan, Grosseto), the USA (Carnegie Hall) and Asia. In China he played in the most famous concert halls such as the National Opera in Beijing, and in Germany he performed in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Robert-Schumann-Saal Düsseldorf and many more.
Musical partners have included orchestras such as the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the Konzerthaus-Orchester Berlin, the Beethoven Philharmonie Bonn and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
Cunmo Yin successfully completed his solo class degree with Professor Gerrit Zitterbart in 2022.
He currently teaches at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover and is a guest at various concert halls in Europe and Asia.
