Deutsche Telekom AG attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data. It is important to us to inform you about what personal data is collected, how it is used and what options you have in this regard.

1. What data is collected, how is it used and how long is it stored?

We only use your personal data for the purpose of technical administration of the digital service and to fulll your wishes and requirements. Additional personal data, such as your name,  address,  telephone  number  or  e-mail  address,  will  not  be  collected  unless  you provide this information voluntarily (Art. 6 (1a) GDPR) or in connection with the application (Art.  6  (1b)  GDPR).  The  data  you  enter  when  contacting  us,  the  scope  of  which  can  be found in the application form, will be processed exclusively for the purpose of processing the application by Deutsche Telekom in accordance with section 4.

Additional personal data, such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address, will not be collected unless you provide this information voluntarily - for contact requests, press inquiries or artist placement.

2. Data control for the links used to social media platforms

1) Data control for the social media plug-ins or links to social media platforms used.

The  site contains buttons  from  social  media  networks  (such  as  Facebook,  Google, Instagram,  X  [Twitter],  Pinterest,  Xing,  TikTok  or  LinkedIn),  which  you  can  use  to recommend the  content  of  the  Telekom  Beethoven  Competition to  your  friends  and acquaintances.

To ensure that you have full data control, the buttons used only establish direct contact between the  respective  social  network  and  the  visitor  when  you  actively  click  on  the button  (one-click  solutionOpens in a new tab)

We want you to enjoy using our digital services and make use of our services. We analyze your usage behavior pseudonymously so that you can nd the information that interests you and we can make our digital service more user-friendly. Usage proles are created in accordance with legal regulations. Below we provide you with general information about the  various  purposes  of processing.  Via  the  "Consent  to data  processing" query,  which appears  when  you  access  our  digital  service,  you  have  the  option  of  consenting  to  the processing or rejecting it in part or in full. Processing that is necessary for the provision of the digital service (see explanation above under 1.) cannot be rejected.

 

a)  Basic functionality of the website (digital service)

These processing operations are always active and necessary for the website to function properly.

Functional

This processing is necessary so that you can navigate through the digital service and use essential functions. They enable  basic functions, such as registering to take  part  in  the  Beethoven  Competition. They  are  also  used  for  the  anonymous evaluation  of  user  behavior,  which  we  use  to  continuously  develop  our  digital service for you. The legal basis for this processing is §25 para. 2 no. 2 TDDDG, Art.

6 para. 1b GDPR or, in the case of third countries, Art. 44 et seq. GDPR.

Analytical:

This processing is necessary so that we can carry out technical analyses, usage evaluations and reach measurements to ensure the quality of the services oƯered and improve structural errors in the digital service and its functions. The necessary analytical processing takes place without access to your end device and is based on  information  already  collected  for  the  provision  of  the  digital  service,  see functionally  necessary  processing.  After  pseudonymization,  this  data  is  further processed  exclusively  for  the  purpose  of  ensuring  high-quality  and  service-oriented service implementation, storage period 3 months. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 4 GDPR.

 

b)  Analysis by Telekom Deutschland GmbHWe use cookies and analytics technologies to develop a better understanding of how our digital services are used. They help us to optimize our digital services. For example, we can  determine  how  many  people  visit  our  service  or  a  particular  service.  They  are  also useful  for  statistical  evaluations  that  show  us  how  our  digital  services  are  used.  The analysis is based on pseudonymous information. The legal basis for this processing is §25 para. 1 TDDDG, Art. 6 para. 1 a GDPR or, in the case of third countries, Art. 49 para. 1 a GDPR.

4. Application form - What data is collected, how is it used and how long is it stored?

Applicants:

Your data as an applicant will be stored until the time of the announcement of the eld of participants - unless you object to this via info@telekom-beethoven-competition.de or https://www.muvac.com/de/contactOpens in a new tab.

Telekom uses the Berlin-based service provider Muv.ac GmbH to process the applicants' data. In addition to participation in the Beethoven Competition, Muv.ac GmbH also enables applicants to arrange concerts. For this reason, Telekom and Muv.ac act as joint controllers with regard to the applicants' data. After that, the data of applicants who are not invited to the competition in Bonn will be deleted.
Exceptions to this are country, year of birth and email address. This data will be stored for a period of 3 years for the purposes of statistical surveys and for contacting applicants for possible re-participation.

 

Participants:

The participants' data will be stored until the end of the competition. The proof of transfer of the participation fee and the scan of the passport with the announcement of the eld of participants will be deleted. All other data will be saved in the course of preparing for the competition.

After the end of the competition, the data records will be minimized to the following information:
country, year of birth and e-mail address; the remaining data will be deleted.

 

Award winners:

The data of the prizewinners will also be stored in order to be able to guarantee the placement of concerts and to act as an agency for the prizewinners in concert placement and will be stored
or as long as this is necessary in accordance with the statutory retention periods.

It is possible to object to the storage of your data at any time via the above e-mail address. This can be done informally.

6. What rights do I have?

You have the right,

a) to request information on categories of processed data, processing purposes, any recipients of the data, the planned storage period (Art. 15 GDPR);

b) to demand the correction or completion of incorrect or incomplete data (Art. 16 GDPR);

c) to withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR);

d) to object, on grounds relating to your situation, at any time in the future to data processing which is based on a legitimate interest (Art. 21 (1) GDPR), stating these grounds. You can object to data processing for direct marketing purposes at any time without stating these reasons (Art. 21 para. 2, 3 GDPR);

e) to request the erasure of data in certain cases within the scope of Art. 17 GDPR - in particular if the data is no longer required for the intended purpose or is processed unlawfully, or you have withdrawn your consent in accordance with (c) above or declared an objection in accordance with (d) above;

f) under certain conditions, to demand the restriction of data if deletion is not possible or the obligation to delete is disputed (Art. 18 GDPR);

g) to data portability, i.e. you can receive the data you have provided to us in a commonly used machine-readable format, such as CSV, and, if necessary, transmitt to others (Art. 20 GDPR;)

h) to complain to the competent supervisory authority about the data processing (for telecommunications contracts: Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information; otherwise: State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia).

7. Who does Telekom pass my data on to?

To processors, i.e. companies that we commission to process data within the legally prescribed framework, Art. 28 GDPR (service providers, vicarious agents). Telekom remains responsible for the protection of your data even in this case. We commission companies in the following areas in particular IT, sales, marketing, nance, consulting, customer service, human resources, logistics, printing.

To cooperation partners who provide services for you or in connection with the Beethoven Competition on their own responsibility. This is the case if you commission the services of such partners from us or if you consent to the involvement of the partner, e.g. Muv.ac GmbH, or if we involve the partner on the basis of legal permission.

Due to legal obligation: In certain cases, we are legally obliged to transmit certain data to the requesting government agency.

8. Where will my data be processed?

Your data will be processed in Germany and other European countries.

Otherwise, the following applies: If data processing takes place in third countries, this will take place if you have expressly consented to this or if it is necessary for the provision of our services to you or if it is provided for by law (Art. 49 GDPR).

Your data will only be processed in third countries if certain measures ensure that there is an adequate level of data protection (e.g. adequacy decision of the EU Commission or so-called appropriate safeguards, Art. 44 et seq. of the GDPR, see here).
