Epifanio Comis

Epifanio Comis was student of Agatella Catania, Lazar Berman and Pietro Rattalino. He has toured as a soloist throughout Europe, Asia, Russia, and the United States. He has performed with numerous world class orchestras including the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra of Bucharest, the Radio Orchestra of Bucharest, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Kiev, the Karlovy Vary Symfonic Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Szeged, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Cluj, the Tulare County Symphony Orchestra of California, the Plainfield Symphony Orchestra, the Orquestra Sinfonica UANL of Mexico, the Orchestra Sinfonica del Teatro Bellini di Catania, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, The Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro Bellini, the Osaka Symphony Orchestra, the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra. His recitals in the USA and Asia have brought him great critical acclaim. Epifanio Comis gives masterclasses in important Academy and Universities like Manhattan School of Music, Chopin Academy Warsaw, Royal Conservatoire Mons, Ecole Normale in Paris, Bucarest Music Academy. He performed in prestigious hall such as Discoteca di Stato di Roma, Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania, Sala delle Erbe di Milano, Athenée Roman di Bucarest, Steinway hall in New York, il Chankaichek Theatre din Taipei, Concert Hall di Bangkok, Concert Hall di Amagasaki, Concert Hall di Kyoto. Symphony Hall on Osaka, Carnegie Halll in New York and many others. Epifanio is also active as conductor. Last concerts he conducted all Rachmaninov Piano Concertos and Rhapsody and the second Symphony with Bellini Theatre orchestra in Catania and in Moscow. He is also a very acclaimed teacher. His students achieved top prizes in the most important world piano competitions as Busoni Piano Competition, Queen Elisabeth Bruxelles, Chopin Piano Competition Warsaw, Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn, Top of the World in Tromso ecc. In 2013 he was awarded at Moscow Conservatory with the “Sergei Rachmaninov International Award” together with Vladimir Ashkenazy, Valery Gergiev and Nicolai Lugansky. Epifanio Comis has an intense career as soloist and conductor and he is a professor at Bellini State Conservatory in Catania, Sicily.
